Victim Selected for the 13th Madeira Curtas in Portugal
Victim joined the official selection of the 13th Madeira Curtas Short Film Competition in Portugal.
The 2024 edition takes “Freedom” as its theme
The competition is organised in Madeira through the regional education authorities and the EDUCAmedia programme. Its 13th edition is connected to the fiftieth anniversary of Portugal’s Carnation Revolution and uses “Freedom” as the central theme.
The awards event is scheduled for 8 May 2024 at the Dr. Horácio Bento de Gouveia School in Funchal as part of the Audiovisual and School Cinema Festival, FACE.
A child’s refusal at the centre of the film
Written by Sara Moradi and directed by Bahman Radan, Victim follows a boy who tries to protect the family’s goat during Eid al-Adha. His attachment to the animal places him in conflict with his father’s decision and the tradition surrounding it.
The film was produced by AD1 FILM in Türkiye. Zahra Radanfar handled editing and colour grading, and Siavash Beigi created the music and sound design. International distribution is handled by IranFilmPort.
