Victim” Advances as Semi-Finalist at Prestigious Canadian Film Festival
We are excited to announce that our short film Victim, directed by Bahman Radan and written by Sara Moradi, has been named a semi-finalist at the 5th Annual Human-Environment Care Film Festival (HECFF) in Toronto, Canada. HECFF, one of the country’s premier cultural events, celebrates films that highlight human rights, environmental conservation, and the intricate relationship between humanity and the environment.
The HECFF, renowned for its focus on impactful storytelling, received an impressive 3,000 submissions this year. From these, only 250 films were selected, highlighting the significant achievement of being chosen. “Victim” will be among these works, contributing to a global conversation on human-environment care.
Under the leadership of Festival Director Ehsan Nasiri and Manager Zahra Jafari Alimolk, the festival aims to raise awareness and encourage debate on critical issues through the medium of film. The event will take place in Toronto, bringing together filmmakers, activists, and audiences dedicated to making a difference through art.
This marks the eighth international appearance of “Victim” at film festivals worldwide. Previously, “Victim” was selected for the 2024 Vegan Çiftlik Film Festival in Turkey, the 2024 Madeira Curtas Film Festival in Portugal, the 13th Riurau Film Festival in Spain, the 14th Edition of the Animal Film Festival, the Italian Pino Scicolone Film Festival, and the 16th edition of FilmOneFest in the USA.
