Victim Advances to the HECFF 2024 Semifinal

Victim advanced to the semifinalist stage of the fifth Human-Environment Care Film Festival in Canada.

A new stage in the competition

The HECFF result is an advancement rather than a general festival selection. The festival’s 2024 edition focuses on work connected to human rights, environmental protection and the effects of human activity on animals and the natural world.

The festival is scheduled for 26–28 September 2024 in Ontario. Victim’s confirmed status at the time of publication is Semifinalist.

A conflict between care and inherited practice

Directed and produced by Bahman Radan and written by Sara Moradi, the film follows a boy who tries to protect the family’s goat during Eid al-Adha. The child’s attachment to the animal brings him into conflict with his father’s decision.
