“Victim” Officially Selected for the 13th Riurau International Film Festival in Spain 2024
We are honored to announce that our short film, “Victim,” directed by Bahman Radan, has been selected for the prestigious 13th edition of the Riurau Film Festival. This marks the film’s fourth international festival selection, following screenings at the Vegan Çiftlik Short Film Festival, the Madeira Curtas Film Festival, and the Three Acts of Goodness Micro Film Festival.
“Victim” follows a father and son as they grapple with the traditions of Eid al-Adha. As the father prepares to sacrifice an animal, his son develops a deep empathy for the creature and fights to save it. This heartfelt story challenges viewers to examine the age-old practice of animal sacrifice in the name of religion.
Director Bahman Radan articulates the film’s core message:
“In many religions, countless animals are tragically killed in the name of faith. ‘Victim‘ is a call to action, urging viewers to question this long-standing practice and explore alternative paths towards atonement and compassion.”
“Victim” strives for a world where all living beings are treated with respect and dignity.
A Collaborative Effort
We are incredibly grateful to the entire team behind “Victim” for their dedication and artistry. The creation of this work wouldn’t have been possible without the talent of our incredible team. We are immensely grateful to Bahman Radan for his professional direction and cinematography, Sara Moradi for her captivating screenplay, Ramazan Öğüt and Ramazan Uzun for their heartfelt performances, Siavash Beigi for his evocative original score, and Zahra Radan for her meticulous editing. We are also proud to partner with IranFilmPort for the worldwide distribution of “Victim.”
