9th Mostra Animal Adds That Also Breathes to Its 2023 Selection

That Also Breathes joined the official selection of the 9th Mostra Animal in Brazil in 2023.

A festival programme focused on animals and human responsibility

Mostra Animal presents films that examine the relationship between animals, ethics and everyday human choices. The ninth edition brought together short-form work from different countries within that thematic frame.

That Also Breathes approaches the subject through a woman’s affection for her companion animal and the moral distinction she encounters between animals people protect and animals they consume. The two-minute short relies on image, performance and sound to build that contrast.

The creative team behind the film

The film was directed and produced by Bahman Radan from a screenplay by Sara Moradi. Mobina Alinasab and Sunny appear in the principal roles, with cinematography by Ben Richmond, editing and colour by Zahra Radanfar, and music and sound by Sina Masserrat. AD1 FILM produced the project in Türkiye, with distribution handled by IranFilmPort.
