Smile Selected for Screening at the 2024 Diogenes Short Film Festival
We are thrilled to announce that our short film Smile, written and directed by Kian Parsi, has been selected for screening at the renowned Diogenes 2024 Short Film Festival in Tbilisi, Georgia, this fall. This conceptual silent short film marks a major milestone, placing Smile on the international stage alongside filmmakers, critics, and cinema enthusiasts worldwide.
The Diogenes Short Film Festival is known for its dual-country screenings, with events in both Odessa, Ukraine, and Tbilisi, Georgia. Focusing on ‘New Horizons, Creative Adventure, and Innovation,’ the festival highlights emerging talent, providing filmmakers with a platform to showcase their narratives in a culturally diverse environment. The Smile screening will be featured during the festival’s Autumn edition in Georgia, from September 15 to September 30, 2024.
“We are proud and excited to be part of the Diogenes Festival,” said Kian Parsi, director and writer of Smile. “This film draws from the deep emotional experiences of a woman, and I am incredibly happy to see it recognized on an international stage. I owe a lot to my amazing creative team, including editor and colorist Zahra Radanfar and sound designer Nima Afshari, who brought the film to life.”
Smile, a two-minute silent film, tells the evocative story of a woman walking among the dead, delivering a profound message: “If you don’t laugh, you’re dead.”
