Return, directed and produced by Bahman Radan from a screenplay by Sara Moradi, joined the official selection of the Clown International Film Festival’s June–November 2025 season.
A second confirmed festival selection for Return in 2025
The result followed the film’s earlier selection for the Kuala Lumpur International Film Awards 2025, adding a second confirmed festival selection to its 2025 record.
Clown International Film Festival is based in Paris and presents independent work across short film, feature film, documentary, animation and screenplay categories. The festival organises its results through seasonal programmes.
A metaphysical drama about a mother who cannot leave
The 10-minute short follows the spirit of a murdered mother who remains close to the child she was trying to protect. As familiar people and places begin to shift, the story develops into a reflection on trauma, identity and reincarnation.
The principal cast includes Çiğil Ünsal, Bülent Akkaş and Ramazan Öğüt. Zahra Radanfar edited and colour graded the film, Sina Masserrat composed the score and created the sound design, and the visual effects were completed by MohammadReza Baik and Mojtaba Zanganeh.
