Mohammad Hossein Bagherifard

Mohammad Hossein Bagherifard is an Iranian documentary filmmaker whose work focuses on contemporary social realities and people whose lives are often overlooked. He began directing professionally in 2019 and works across directing, writing, producing and editing.

His documentaries have explored volunteer medical workers, community support, environmental health and traditional labor. His short documentary AVA (2025) follows a young woman working as a carpenter as she confronts gender barriers, social judgment and the practical demands of her profession.
