Post-production has been completed on Lights of the Inferno, a short film written and directed by Hamoon Mirzaei.
Set during a scorching summer in Iran, the film follows Ramin, a young man with a congenital disability who lives with his father on the fourth floor of an apartment building. Repeated power outages make even basic daily tasks increasingly difficult, leaving Ramin to find his own way of keeping his world illuminated.
The film is presented primarily in black and white before transitioning to colour in its final section. Mirzaei also handled the editing and colour grading, while Mehrdad Biazarikari created the sound design. The original music was composed by Mirzamoon, and the film features a live musical performance by Anoushirvan Rohani.
Running three minutes and fifty seconds, Lights of the Inferno is in Persian and has been completed with English and Turkish subtitles. With the final version now ready, preparations are underway for the film’s international festival submissions.
