Hamoon Mirzaei is an Iranian filmmaker, composer, and television producer whose work spans independent cinema, documentary filmmaking, television production, and original music. Working under the artistic name Mirzamoon for his musical projects, his films explore themes of memory, identity, exile, political oppression, and the emotional landscapes of contemporary Iranian life. His work combines social realism with poetic visual storytelling, creating intimate narratives that bridge personal experience and collective history.
Hamoon Mirzaei is a filmmaker and composer based in Türkiye, originally from Iran. A graduate of the University of Tehran and the Tehran Conservatory, he began his career in television before expanding into independent cinema and original music.
He is best known for directing major television productions for Ayeneh TV, including Voice of Exile and Landless. Alongside his television career, he has developed a distinctive body of independent films, including the documentary Maymand, the short films Reincarnation in Purgatory and Burnt Dreams, and the award-recognized music video Haft Khan.
As a composer, Mirzaei releases original music under the artistic name Mirzamoon. His cinematic work is characterized by minimalist storytelling, psychological atmosphere, and themes of migration, memory, identity, and social reality.
