ANNOUNCEMENT
Vegan Çiftlik Short Film Festival is a thematic event where short cinema meets animal-rights advocacy. Built around the idea of Animal Freedom, the festival looks for work that questions speciesism, the treatment of animals as property and the legal, cultural and economic systems that define human relationships with other species.
The programme is designed for recent short films and video works that engage directly with these questions. Fiction, experimental and other short-form approaches can sit side by side, provided that the work is consistent with the festival’s anti-discrimination principles. Screenings are presented in the communal setting of Vegan Çiftlik, giving the event the character of both a film programme and a wider conversation about ethics, food systems, captivity and coexistence.
For filmmakers working with animal rights, environmental ethics or the politics of everyday consumption, the festival offers a clearly defined thematic context rather than a general-purpose competition.
