Official Selection
International Documentary Film
Final DeadlineOctober 15, 2026
Punto de Vista – International Documentary Film Festival of Navarra is a documentary festival in Pamplona focused on independent and exploratory nonfiction cinema, with an Official Selection built around international documentary work.
CLOSING SOON
Punto de Vista – International Documentary Film Festival of Navarra takes place in Pamplona and approaches documentary cinema through point of view, inquiry and cinematic form rather than subject matter alone. Its Official Selection is open to independent work that engages with reality through a distinct artistic perspective and is willing to take formal or conceptual risks.
For 2027, the festival’s published programming principles also emphasise reflection and knowledge, ethical commitment to the people represented and to audiences, and independent expression within documentary practice.
The 21st edition of Punto de Vista will take place in Pamplona from 9 to 14 March 2027. Official Selection submissions remain open until 15 October 2026 at 23:59.
Documentary films from any country may apply. Eligible films must have been completed after 1 August 2025. The current rules place no limit on subject matter, running time or original language, so short, mid-length and feature documentaries can all enter the same main Official Selection route.
Fiction films, institutional or advertising productions, and works that are strictly journalistic or report-based are not eligible for the Official Selection.
A submitted film must not already have had a commercial cinema release in Spain, been commercially distributed in Spain or been broadcast by a Spanish television channel; it must also not be scheduled for such a release or broadcast before the festival ends.
The current registration declaration adds another important condition for selected films: they must not be broadcast on television or released on an internet platform before 14 March 2027. This makes both the film’s Spanish release history and its planned television or online availability important checks before submission.
The application requires a viewing URL and password where needed. The link must be downloadable and remain active until 31 December 2026. The submission is not considered complete until the programming team has verified that the film can be viewed and downloaded correctly.
For filmmakers using expiring screeners or changing passwords, that means access should be tested before the application is filed and kept stable throughout the review period.
Punto de Vista does not divide Official Selection submissions into separate runtime categories. The 2027 award structure includes the Punto de Vista Grand Prize for Best Film, the Jean Vigo Prize for Best Director and a Best Short Film award for films running 35 minutes or less. The festival also presents Audience and Youth awards.
For Punto de Vista, the main fit questions are the film’s documentary approach, completion date, Spanish release position and the reliability of its screener access. AD1 FILM can review those points together with premiere history and festival materials, then clarify the film’s fit for the Official Selection and its place within a wider documentary-festival route before submission. Selection remains with the festival.
