Providence Children’s Film Festival is a non-profit arts and cultural organisation founded in 2009. Its annual festival presents independent and international children’s cinema through screenings, filmmaking workshops, activities and post-film conversations.
The programme includes feature and short films across live action, documentary and animation, with an emphasis on cinema that can engage children, teens and families across different backgrounds and perspectives.
The Youth Filmmaker Showcase, created in 2014, extends that mission to young creators. It presents a juried selection of films made by filmmakers ages 6–17 and gives participating young artists an opportunity to share their work, discuss their creative process and encounter films made by peers from different places.
