ANNOUNCEMENT
The Tbilisi International Internet Short Film Festival “Diogenes” approached short cinema as a space for experimentation, exchange and new forms of expression. Its 2024 edition was organised around the slogan “New Horizons, Creative Adventure, and Innovation” and brought Georgian and international work together within an internet-based festival structure.
The programme welcomed fiction, documentary, animation and experimental films, with vertical cinema also included among the accepted forms. Rather than being tied to a single subject, Diogenes used an open thematic model, allowing films to approach social, personal, cultural and formal questions through different short-film languages.
The festival’s 2024 framework combined a Main Jury and a Student Jury and presented short films as a way to connect filmmakers and audiences across countries. Its published regulations also excluded work built around war propaganda, extremism, hatred or discrimination, placing creative freedom alongside a clear rejection of aggressive and discriminatory messaging.
