ANNOUNCEMENT
Alicante International Film Festival is a city-wide film event that brings short cinema into a broader programme of feature competition, project development, professional meetings and public screenings. Its short-film sections create separate spaces for international work, Spanish productions, animation, documentary, LGTBI cinema and locally connected films.
The short-film competition is open internationally. For the 2026 edition, fiction and animation shorts could run up to thirty minutes, while documentary shorts could reach forty. Alongside the competitions, the festival develops a project laboratory and audiovisual co-production activity, giving the event a professional dimension beyond exhibition alone.
For filmmakers, Alicante offers two complementary routes: a public festival audience and a wider industry environment in which short films, features and works in development can circulate through different parts of the programme.
