AVA Selected for the 5th Jammu Film Festival in India
The documentary short AVA, written, directed and produced by Mohammad Hossein Bagherifard, has been selected for the 5th Jammu Film Festival in India.
The selection marks another international festival appearance for AVA. The film was previously selected for the Documentary Competition at the 12th International Alexandria Short Film Festival in Greece.
A Documentary About Work, Independence and Social Expectations
AVA follows the working life of Ava Kiyani, a young woman who works as a carpenter in Iran. Remaining close to her workplace, the film observes both the physical demands of the profession and the social attitudes surrounding a woman’s presence in a field still widely regarded as male-dominated.
Cinematography is by Mohammad Javad Mazrouei, with Rasoul Sabouri responsible for editing and colour grading. Worldwide distribution is handled by AD1 FILM.
