AVA Begins Its International Festival Submission Process

AVA, the Iranian documentary short directed by Mohammad Hossein Bagherifard, has entered the international festival submission process with worldwide distribution handled by AD1 FILM.

An international presentation package prepared for the film

Before submissions began, AD1 FILM reviewed the project’s English-language synopsis, director materials, technical information, stills, poster assets and electronic press kit. A screening copy with English subtitles and a separate SRT file were also prepared for festival delivery.

The first international festival submission was completed on 27 January 2026.

A documentary about work and social expectation

AVA follows Ava Kiyani, a young carpenter working in Iran. The film observes her daily practice in a profession still widely treated as male territory and the social pressure surrounding her decision to continue in the trade.

Mohammad Hossein Bagherifard wrote, directed and produced the film. Mohammad Javad Mazrouei served as director of photography, with editing and colour grading by Rasoul Sabouri. AD1 FILM manages the film’s worldwide distribution.
